Aeroitalia utilizes A-DCS, A-ICE’s departure control system, and A-WBS, the company’s weight and balance control solution. A-ICE had to showcase seamless integration of their software with London Heathrow’s baggage reconciliation systems, CUTE systems, and traffic control systems to meet the airline’s needs. Implementation was primarily conducted remotely from A-ICE’s Rome headquarters, with additional on-site support during the final testing stages of the project.

Aeroitalia, which began operations from Forli Airport in July 2022, offers charter and regional scheduled routes throughout Europe. Recently, the airline established a base at Milan Bergamo, initiating flights to London Heathrow on December 8th.

Carlos Fernandes, UK Sales Manager at A-ICE, commented, “Supporting Aeroitalia during their latest expansion phase has been an honor. As a dynamic new airline, they are an ideal match for our flexible cloud-based solutions. We look forward to strengthening this partnership in the future.”

Massimiliano Zema, IT Manager at Aeroitalia, praised A-ICE, stating, “The A-ICE team’s commitment, support, and expertise have been vital in implementing the necessary system enhancements for our scheduled expansion to London Heathrow. A-ICE consistently displays a deep understanding of the unique IT challenges faced by a growing business like ours and provides effective, efficient technology solutions through straightforward implementation.”

Founded by Marc Bourgade and German Efromovich, Aeroitalia is led by CEO Gaetano Intrieri. The airline plans to add two more Boeing 737-800s to its fleet of three by summer 2023 to facilitate its ongoing expansion plans.

Claudio Ferrari, Founder and Commercial Director of A-ICE, expressed delight at Aeroitalia’s selection, stating, “Our technology’s choice by Aeroitalia is thrilling. For airline partners in today’s market, the ability to swiftly respond to market opportunities requires a reliable yet adaptable technology platform, and our cloud-based solutions portfolio is designed to deliver just that.
